Abiding in Him

A Week Of Thanks – Day 1

I have committed to reading passages and quotes on thankfulness everyday between today and Thanksgiving Day.  This is today’s passage and a few thoughts….

Psalm 105:1 Oh give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; Make known among the peoples his doings.

I believe a wonderful thing happens when we share our “God Stories”.  When we share the ways we see God move in our lives in both the big and small things.  As we hurry through our days we can miss Him if we are not looking and praying. It is inspiring to share the ways He reveals Himself to us!

We need to make known HIS doings!

I will share one way God has revealed Himself to me this week – I have a single friend who is in the process of adoption a little one from overseas.  Two weeks ago I felt led to pray for God to raise up several people who can support her in very real and tangible ways as she is getting closer to bringing her little one home.  With in the last week, God has connected us to two different families to support her….one family we did not even know until last week!

I am thankful that God is our great provider! He will supply all our needs. He cares about the details of our days and He hears the cries of His people.

I would love to hear your “God Stories” this week!!!!!!! Please share!

Happy Thanksgiving Week!

  1. I am so grateful today for all the blessings in my life…looking back over the last year and seeing God’s hand on my family is amazing to see where He has led us. One year ago, we were in a different church and were not getting fed from God’s word. Our family life was suffering because of this. As my prayer group prayed for me and my family, God began to show me that we needed a change. Let me point out that he did not reveal this to my husband. So we prayed, and prayed for God to reveal himself and help this family get led to a gospel based church.
Through a long process full of God moments, we are in a Gospel teaching church being fed God’s word. The family life is dramatically different. My husband has even been attending the Men’s group and is growing like a wild flower. I stand amazed at where we are today compared to one year ago.
God is so good…I have to trust that his hand on every thing….
Thank you for reminding us to be grateful!
    In his Love,
    Michelle Van Horn
