I have been married to a Mark Ottinger, an amazing man of faith and vision for 15 wonderful years! We have six children through the blessing and gift of adoption. I am passionate about my journey with the Lord. I am so thankful that the God of heaven and earth is a personal God and longs to lead and guide us. I am thankful that He chose to redeem and reconcile His children by adoption through Christ.

I am learning to embrace and delight in the “mess and dirt” of the journey as I listen to the voice of the Lord and act in faith and obedience to His leading.  Jer 33:3 says “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

We are passionate about adoption, fostering, and advocating for children who need a voice. It is my deepest heart passion. I homeschool our kiddos, because it is what they need at this time…which means I need a lot of Jesus =)!!!!

I am in awe of how God has creatively chosen to grow my family.

I am incredibly thankful for the gift and blessing of adoption.

I am humbled that God has allowed my husband and I to be a part of the story of our four AMAZING kids!

We are committed to honoring our kids, their journeys, their pasts, and their futures!

My hubby is the Pastor to Families at www.fellowshipmemphis.org. A church that we love and are so thankful for.

We have an adoption and foster care support ministry www.117memphis.org. We believe walking the adoption and foster care journey is best done in community and support and that the local church is called to serve both the parents and children and those serving the children of our city.

We are parent trainers as part of the  Empowered to Connect team.

Life is full and I am thankful!!

“There is nothing to prove and nothing to protect. I am who I am and it’s enough.”  Richard Rohr

“May God bless you as you continue to discover His hidden miracles in your life.If you listen for His voice, look for His help, and long for His appearing, you will sense His presence in every battle, victory, sorrow, and joy”-Bruce Carroll

  1. Hi Tona!!! I sure love reading anything you write!!! Thanks for this new blog – it’s already “saved to my favorites” and I’ve subsribed so I get notice when you post something. Whee!

  2. Hey Tona!
Love your blog title! I have to delight in our torn sofa we have had for 7 years of marital bliss! We just put blankets over the bad parts! The point is the kids have somewhere to sit, right? 🙂

  3. You are a amazing woman of God and I am bless to know you. Love you blog, just made it one of my favorites!

  4. Tona:
My husband and I have 4 adopted children also! We are in Atlanta and are on the ministry team for Promise686 out of Perimeter Church. So great to read some of your epiphanies and wisdom about raising adopted children!

  5. Since I discovered your blog on facebook…I have been so blessed and inspired to engage with my children more! I’ve since started the workbox system as you have redesigned it and well, so far so good! The kids love it! I’m only doing it for my 9 and 10-year-olds, but my 13-year-old wants me to make him one! You’re such a blessing from God!
