Our youngest son Dax was adopted domestically at 4 1/2 months old in 2004. He had a liver transplant in 2008 b/c of liver failure due to being born with congenital CMV (aka – a crazy virus that does horrible things to a baby in utero). He was diagnosed with liver cancer at the time of transplant but has been cancer free since his transplant!! He was extremely medically fragile and chronically ill the first 5 years of his life. We praise God for sustaining him. Walking this journey has taught us to see every day as a gift from the Lord, to hug our kids a little tighter =), and God truly will give you enough grace for the day.
Before this site we blogged at http://www.ottingers.blogspot.com/
If you would like to go back and read about his medical history and adoption, the adoption of Mallie, and what God did in our lives during that time, we would love to open that door to you.
One of my favorite entries is Mothers Day May 2007. I wrote out some promises I felt the Lord give me during a very critical moment when Dax was in the ICU the first time. http://www.ottingers.blogspot.com/2007/05/happy-mothers-day.html
